Our privacy policy and how we use your data

1. Introduction

AI Router (https://airouter.io) values your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our platform and services.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account Information: When you register, we collect your email and authentication details using Supabase (EU, Frankfurt).
  • Billing Information: Stripe securely handles your payment details when you make a purchase.
  • User Input: Text queries or instructions you submit may be transmitted to third-party LLM providers for processing. See section 5 for input persistence details.
  • Support and Communications: Information you provide via support or onboarding (handled by kit.com).
  • Event Data: We log specific in-app events (such as LLM completion with request settings) to Posthog (EU, Frankfurt) and associate them with user records from Supabase. We do not track page views or site browsing behavior with Posthog—only application events essential for product reliability and improvement.
  • Technical Data: IP address, browser, and device information may be processed by our hosting providers (Vercel and Google Cloud Platform, EU, Frankfurt) for service operations and security.
  • Web Analytics: We use Vercel Analytics to capture aggregated usage information such as visits and page views. Vercel Analytics operates server-side and does not use cookies or browser fingerprinting, and does not personally identify you.

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your information to operate and improve AI Router, authenticate users, process payments, provide support, fulfill legal obligations, protect platform security, monitor service usage and reliability, and improve features through in-app event metrics and aggregate web analytics. We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking.

4. How We Share Your Data

We share your information only with selected partners required to deliver our service:
  • Supabase for authentication and database (EU, Frankfurt)
  • Sentry for error logging (EU)
  • Posthog for in-app event tracking (EU, Frankfurt). We do not collect or share your browsing analytics or unrelated personal data here.
  • Vercel Analytics for aggregated, server-side web usage analytics (no cookies or browser fingerprinting).
  • Stripe for payment processing
  • Vercel and Google Cloud Platform for hosting and operations (EU, Frankfurt)
  • kit.com for onboarding communications

5. LLM Data Handling and Input Storage

  • Your input data sent to LLMs is not persisted, logged, or stored by AI Router (paid plans).
  • Model Selection Mode: In model selection mode, inputs are never persisted at all (paid plans).
  • Any query sent to an LLM provider is processed under their privacy policies and may be transferred outside the EU/EEA. Do not include personal or sensitive information in your inputs.

6. Data Transfers

Data may be processed or transferred outside your jurisdiction (including outside the EU/EEA) when serviced by third-party providers and LLMs. We require all partners to apply appropriate safeguards in line with legal obligations.

7. Data Retention

  • For paid packages, input data to LLMs is never retained or stored by AI Router.
  • Other personal data—such as account or billing records—is kept as necessary for regulatory and operational reasons.
  • If you wish to delete your account and data, contact us using the information in section 13.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, as well as data portability and right to withdraw consent. To exercise your rights, contact us at hello@airouter.io.

9. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational safeguards—including encryption, secured infrastructure, and access controls—to protect your data.

10. Cookies and Tracking

AI Router uses cookies or similar technologies only for authentication and essential in-app features. We do not use cookies for analytics, advertising, or cross-site profiling. Web analytics via Vercel Analytics operates without cookies.

11. Children's Privacy

AI Router is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
